Firefighter Daniel Mosqueira has been selected as May’s Firefighter of the Month for his outstanding display of individual initiative surpassing job requirements and expectations, specifically for his hard work and dedication to the department.
There is an incredible talent pool within the ranks of our Fire Department. While off duty on 4/17/25, Firefighter Mosqueira encountered an unresponsive individual behind the wheel of a vehicle stopped in the middle of the road. Without hesitation, he intervened and, alongside another off-duty firefighter and a South Miami police officer, initiated CPR. Their teamwork and immediate response continued until Miami-Dade Fire Rescue arrived and transported the patient to the emergency room.
As of 4/18/25 the patient remains alive and is currently awaiting a heart transplant. Thanks to Firefighter Mosqueira’s swift and heroic actions, this individual now has a fighting chance at life.
Due to his outstanding work ethic and dedication to the Fire Department, Firefighter Mosqueira is nominated Firefighter of the month for May 2025.
