The Jim Hirschman Award is to recognize an individual(s) who have displayed acts of heroism above and beyond the call of duty in an emergency medical or rescue incident. Dr. Jim Hirschman was a long time medical director for the Coral Gables Fire Department. He is credited with being one of the key pioneers of the Emergency Medical Services.
