Title
Resolution granting approval for a one-hour courtesy parking program for on-street parking meters within the Business Improvement District each year from December 15 through December 25.  (Commissioner Rafael "Ralph" Cabrera, Jr.)

Body
During the December holiday shopping season, Coral Gables Parking Enforcement traditionally provides a one-hour courtesy extension for vehicles at expired meters before a parking citation is issued.  Over the past several years, this program ran from 10 to 14 days before Christmas and covers the Business Improvement District.

Customers are notified of the program by a Courtesy Ticket that is placed on vehicles parked at an expired meter.  The notice lets customers know when the officer was there and when their one-hour courtesy extension expires.  This resolution formalizes the program as a downtown shopping promotion that will run from December 15 through December 25 each year.
