Title
Resolution of the City of Coral Gables authorizing expenditures in the amount of $15,000.00, from State Forfeited Assets (FAF) to defray the cost of a protracted and complex criminal investigation being conducted by the Coral Gables Police Department.
Body
Florida State Statute 932.7055(5)(a) provides that municipal law enforcement agencies may expend the proceeds from assets forfeited as the result of a criminal investigation for law enforcement purposes which include defraying the cost of protracted or complex investigations.  The Criminal Investigations Division of the Coral Gables Police Department has initiated a protracted investigation in partnership with county and state agencies that will incur investigative and overtime costs that were not budgeted for and have therefore applied for funding to defray the costs from the Forfeited Asset Fund (FAF).  The Forfeited Asset Fund Committee met on April 2, 2009, and approved this request.
