Title

Resolution authorizing expenditures in the amount of $12,000.00 from previously encumbered Forfeited Asset Fund (FAF) monies to support the Youth Resource Officer activities and programs of the Coral Gables Police Department Police Explorer Post #594.

Body

Pursuant to FSS 932.7055 (5)(c)(3) a local law enforcement agency must expend or donate no less than 15% of State Forfeited Assets for youth resource officer, crime prevention, drug abuse education and prevention or safe neighborhood programs. 

 

Forfeited Asset Funds were previously encumbered under Resolutions 2008-102 and 2009-227 to set aside funds to support Youth Resource Officer programs as required by statute.

 

The requested expenditure of $12,000.00  will support the activities and programs of the Coral Gables Police Explorer Post #594 and will further satisfy this statutory requirement

 

The Forfeited Asset Fund Committee met on August 16, 2010, and approved this expenditure.
