A Resolution ratifying the acceptance and execution of grant funds in the amount of $648,843.00 allocated to the Coral Gables Police Department as part of the State of Florida Enhanced 911 (E911) Board State Grant Program awarded to Miami-Dade County and the Miami-Dade Police Department, to support the replacement of the existing E911 call answering solution by procuring a WEST VIPER 911 PSAP with KOVA recorders from the existing 911 provider, AT&T; and authorizing an amendment to the Fiscal Year 2019 Budget to recognize the grant funds as revenue and to appropriate such funds to cover the cost of the grant expenditures.

The City of Coral Gables current 911 Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) system reaches end of life in April 2020. To avoid service and support interruptions and assure continuity of critical public safety and emergency management operations, the current 911 PSAP system must be replaced before that time.
The State of Florida Enhanced 911 (E911) Board State Grant Program awarded, Miami-Dade County and the Miami-Dade Police Department, grant funds to provide countywide E911 services. Through this grant program, the Coral Gables 911 CPE System Upgrade Project allocated funds in the amount of $648,843.00 to support the replacement of the existing E911 call answering solution within the City of Coral Gables 911 Center with a WEST VIPER 911 PSAP and KOVA recorders. As the secondary organizational unit, the City of Coral Gables will implement the grant funded initiative in accordance with all requirements provided by the E911 State Grant Program.
The replacement of the existing E911 call answering solution will require a complex deployment rollout to include hardware and software ordering from manufacturer, delivery and staging, system installation, network modification and circuit testing, on-site installation, test and turn-up of the platform.
