Firefighter Tapanes’ career with the City began in May 1988 as a Firefighter Recruit and he became a Firefighter in May 1989. Through the years, Alex has shown a positive professional attitude and works exceptionally well with the public and his team members. He is very reliable and consistent in his approach to accomplishing challenges and is an excellent asset to his battalion, department and to the City. He is also known to produce more work than is required while maintaining a high quality of work product. Firefighter Tapanes’ strives to be the very best he can be. He is a team player who interacts well with everyone and is often a calming influence in the station. He listens to his “6th sense” and knows what needs to be done without being told. He is very thorough as well as always courteous and effective with the public and his fellow firefighters.
The City congratulates Alex on his excellent tenure of dedication and passion for his profession for the last 20 years and looks forward to a continued relationship into the future.
