Body

The existing cooling tower and air handlers for The Actors’ Playhouse/Miracle Theater are in need of replacement.   The City’s consultant, Basulto & Associates, performed an assessment of the air conditioning system and confirmed that the system’s equipment has reached the end of its useful life.

Through the City’s Sourcewell Contract, RFP-070121, Carrier Corporation will provide the necessary equipment and services for the removal of the existing cooling tower, condenser, roof chiller air handlers and the installation of a new air-cooled chiller, pump, air handlers and new management system.

Under Section 2-691 of the Procurement Code, entitled “Special Procurement/Bid Waiver”, a special procurement may be initiated when an unusual or unique situation exists that makes the application of all requirements of competitive sealed bidding or competitive sealed proposal contrary to the public interest.
