A Resolution authorizing an encumbrance in the amount of $26,455 or 15 percent of the State Forfeited Asset Fund (F.A.F.) monies received in the 2013-2014 Fiscal Year, to provide for the support and operation of "School Resource Officer, Crime Prevention, Safe Neighborhood and Drug Abuse Education and Prevention" programs, as required under the Florida Contraband Forfeiture Act.
Body
The F.A.F. consists of the proceeds from the seizure and forfeiture of certain assets identified during criminal investigation to have been possessed or utilized in violation of the Florida Contraband Forfeiture Act.  Under FSS 932.7055, the Florida Contraband Forfeiture Act, a local law enforcement agency that acquires at least $15,000 in such proceeds in a fiscal year must expend or donate no less than 15% of forfeited asset proceeds for school resource officer, crime prevention, safe neighborhood and drug abuse education and prevention programs.
 
The F.A.F. Committee met on October 15, 2014 and approved this encumbrance of $26,455 or 15% of the State F.A.F. monies received in the 2013-2014 fiscal year as required by the Florida Contraband Forfeiture Act.
