Congratulations to Firefighter David Vargas, recipient of the City of Coral Gables Firefighter of the Year Award for 2010.

Firefighter Vargas was selected as the “2010 Firefighter of the Year” for not only performing his regular duties as a firefighter admirably, but always going the extra mile surpassing job requirements and expectations. As a result, he was awarded Firefighter of the Month twice in 2010 for his meritorious accomplishments, specifically his life-saving actions when deployed to Haiti with FEMA Task Force 2 after the earthquake, and for his dedication to the community in getting the Child Seat Program up and running again.
