Congratulations to Firefighter Carlos Eguiluz, recipient of the City of Coral Gables “Firefighter of the Month Award,” for the month of February 2017.

Firefighter Carlos Eguiluz has been selected February’s Firefighter of the Month for his unwavering devotion to a lifetime career service to Vehicle Extrication. His knowledge and years of experience in this field led him to teach countless firefighters not only in our department but worldwide. He has officially represented the Coral Gables Fire Department when firefighters visiting from our sister cities have come to train in Miami. At the request of Mayor Cason, Firefighter Eguiluz with Driver Engineer Richard Fernandez recently completed an extrication training video in Spanish for our sister cities to use.
Because of his passion, knowledge and years of dedication to expand the extrication knowledge of firefighters worldwide, Firefighter Eguiluz was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award by the World Rescue Organization, the North American Vehicle Rescue Association, and the Transportation Emergency Rescue Committee. We thank Firefighter Eguiluz for representing the Coral Gables Fire Department and the City of Coral Gables so admirably and for making us proud.
