Title
A Resolution accepting the recommendation of the Chief Procurement Officer to award the Channel Marker Replacement contract to Dock and Marine Construction pursuant to Invitation For Bid (IFB) 2014.08.07, and Section 2-828 of the Procurement Code entitled "Contract Award".

Body
This project involves the removal and replacement of channel markers and missing day boards in the Coral Gables Waterway, Gables Estates Waterway and Gables by the Sea in accordance to the City standards.

On August 7, 2014, the Procurement Division of Finance formally advertised, issued, and distributed the Channel Marker Replacements - IFB 2014.08.07.  The Public Notice was sent to eight (8) prospective bidders and no bid responses were received on August 27, 2014.

Procurement and the Public Works Department agreed it was in the best interest of the City to extend the bid submittal deadline to September 10, 2014 as the project is required by the United States Coast Guard - District 7 (USCH D-7 DPW/WWM). The bidders were contacted via electronic mail and verbal notifications of the new submittal deadline.

On September 10, 2014, only one (1) responsive, responsible bid was submitted by Dock and Marine Construction for the Channel Marker Replacement contract with a total bid of $45,300.

The Public Works Department concurs with the recommendation of the Chief Procurement Officer to award Dock and Marine Construction the Channel Marker Replacement project.
