Congratulations to Lt. John Perrotti, recipient of the City of Coral Gables Firefighter of the Month Award for the month of May 2014.

Lt. John Perrotti has been selected May's Firefighter of the Month for his meritorious display of job performance, specifically his proficiency while responding to a life-threatening call involving a UM football player. Lt. Perrotti responded to an emergency call at the University of Miami's football practice session and found the victim to be incoherent and unresponsive. Lt. Perrotti recognized this critical situation and sprang into action. His aggressive and proficient treatment was the key to the victim's survival, whose core temperature was 109 degrees Fahrenheit upon arrival to the emergency department. Lt. Perrotti has always performed at the highest level of professionalism with the upmost concern for patient outcomes. Once again Lt. Perrotti has made our department and City proud.
