Update and discussion on the Miracle Mile/Giralda Avenue Streetscape design concepts, process, and community outreach.
Body
On September 11th, 2014, the City Commission approved the project delivery methodology for the Miracle Mile/Giralda Streetscape project. This included approval to issue a request for qualifications for a design firm and establishment of a project steering committee to work inclusively with the design team to provide guidance and recommendations on concepts and final design details.

On December 16th, 2014 the City Commission authorized approval of a contract with Cooper Robertson and Associates for the Miracle Mile/Giralda Avenue Streetscape design project.

During the week of January 12th, Cooper Robertson officially kicked off the design including the initial steering committee meeting, briefings with City officials, and City Staff. Subsequently, the project has been moving forward at an aggressive pace including the following stakeholder meetings and community involvement:

· February 4, 2015 - 2nd steering committee workshop.
· February 5, 2015 - Presentation and meeting with City Boards and Committees.
· February 6, 2015 - Meeting with City Branding Consultant and Art Consultant.
· February 17, 2015 - Community Open House.
· March 19, 2015 - 3rd steering committee workshop.
· April 16, 2015 - 4th steering committee workshop.
· April 17, 2015 - Open House Presentation.

The April 17th open house presentation included a mock-up of the newly proposed sidewalk width including sidewalk café tables, parallel parking, and concept display boards. The meeting was very well attended and the project concepts were very positively received. A summary of the written comments received is included as an attachment.

Staff and the design team will be present at the Special Commission Meeting on April 24th to present and discuss project concepts, steering committee recommendations, public input, and to receive guidance from the Commission. Fo...
