A Resolution of the City of Coral Gables supporting an application for an Urban and Community Forestry grant in the sum of $10,000.00 for the purpose of matching funds used to purchase or develop educational materials and displays related to Urban and Community Forestry topics; and authorizing the City Manager to execute a Grant Memorandum of Agreement with Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.

Body

The City Commission has been supportive of tree planting and maintenance efforts in the development of the City’s Public Realm Urban Forest for many years.  This grant will be used as matching funds to purchase or develop educational materials for the residents of the community; such that the good Urban Forest management practices of the City are multiplied throughout the community on private property.  The subject grant requires a 50/50 match to be funded through Public Service Department accounts
