Because of the existing and continuing possibility of the occurrence of law enforcement problems and other natural and man-made conditions which are, or likely to be, beyond the control of the services, equipment, or facilities of the School Board of Miami-Dade County or the City of Coral Gables Police Department, the City of Coral Gables Police Department and the School Board of Miami-Dade County enter into a Mutual Aid Agreement for voluntary cooperation and operational assistance of a routine law enforcement nature across jurisdictional lines as allowed under 23.1225, Florida State Statute and the rendering of assistance in a law enforcement emergency as defined in 252.34, Florida State Statute. This Mutual Aid Agreement will become effective upon approval and will continue in full force until January 1, 2015, unless terminated prior thereto by any or all parties.
