Recommendation of the City Manager
It is recommended that the City Commission accept the recommendation of the City Manager to purchase a Dealer Demonstrator Isuzu Emergency Rescue Truck from Custom Trucks & Body Works, Inc., the Sole Source Vendor.
 
Brief History
The Fire Department has a need for a replacement air truck to refill the breathing air cylinders for the firefighters.
 
On January 29, 2009, an opportunity to purchase a Dealer Demonstrator Isuzu Rescue Truck with approximately 3,000 miles presented to the City.   
 
The City negotiated with Custom Trucks & Body Works Inc. in Woodbury, GA the purchase price of said Rescue Truck (Vin # JALESW16387901569) to be $94,995.00 less negotiated discount of $14,995.00 for a total price of $80,000.00.
 
The City's Automotive Director and Fire Chief attest that this Rescue Truck meets the needs of the department with a cost savings of over $200,000 and recommend the purchase of said vehicle.
