Firefighter Davalos has been selected August’s Firefighter of the Month for his outstanding display of individual initiative surpassing job requirements and expectations, specifically for his hard work and dedication to the department.
There is an incredible talent pool within the ranks of our Fire Department. Firefighter Davalos went above and beyond the call of duty when he helped an elderly man whose car broke down at a local Walmart. Firefighter Davalos was off duty at the time of the incident.
It was brought to our attention that a resident was on the phone with his 86-year-old uncle that night and the uncle told him that his car had broken down. He was told it would take a couple of hours and Jade was behind him in line and overheard. Jade offered to get the battery out of his car, accompanied him inside, removed the old battery and replaced it with the new one.
The 86-year-old man and his nephew were very grateful that firefighter Davalos was there to assist and wanted to make sure he was recognized for this selfless act.
Due to his outstanding work ethic and dedication to the Fire Department, Firefighter Davalos is nominated for Firefighter of the month for August 2024.
