Resolution authorizing a contract limit increase to $150,000.00 per year for World International Security providing security guard services to various City's facilities through July 14, 2008.
CITY MANAGER'S RECOMMENDATION:
Resolution for a contract limit increase from $87,360.00 (Resolution No. 2003-91) to $150,000.00 per year with World International Security for the remainder of the contract term (contract expires July 14, 2008) be approved.
BRIEF HISTORY:
The original bid amount was calculated based on a number of hours of operation, however, there has been an increase in demand for security guard services and, therefore, it is recommended that the cap be increased from $87,360.00 to an amount not to exceed $150,000.00 per year, for the remainder contract term (contract expires July 14, 2008).
The increased demand for security guard services has resulted from additional after hours' events and meetings held at City Hall, Youth Center and other facilities and the new services provided to the 427 Biltmore Way building.
