Resolution authorizing the City Manager and the Chief of Police to execute a Mutual Aid Agreement with the Bay Harbor Islands Police Department for multi-jurisdictional and cross-jurisdictional delivery of police services.

Brief History:
To allow for patrol along common boundaries (primarily waterways) and due to the existing and continuing possibility of the occurrence of events requiring a law enforcement response and other natural and man-made conditions which are, or are likely to be, beyond the control of resources of the Bay Harbor Islands Police Department or the City of Coral Gables Police Department, the City of Coral Gables Police Department and the Bay Harbor Islands Police Department desire to enter into a Mutual Aid Agreement for voluntary cooperation and operational assistance of a routine law enforcement nature across jurisdictional lines as allowed under Section 23.1225of the Florida Statudes and the rendering of assistance in a law enforcement emergency as defined in Section 252.34 of the Florida Statutes. This Mutual Aid Agreement will become effective upon approval and will continue in full force until September 10, 2019, unless terminated prior thereto by any or all parties.
