Title
A Resolution approving a recommendation from the Historic Preservation Board that a bronze memorial plaque dedicated to Sarah Sikes Anderson be placed on a coral rock, at the northeast corner of the intersection of Granada Boulevard and Coral Way.
Body
On March 21, 2013 the Historic Preservation Board unanimously (9 - 0) passed a motion to recommend approval that a bronze memorial plaque dedicated to Sarah Anderson be placed on a coral rock at the base of an oak tree on the northeast corner of the intersection of Granada Boulevard and Coral Way (Ponce de Leon Plaza) for her significant service to the City of Coral Gables. The proposed plaque wording is as follows:

This monument is dedicated to the memory of Sarah Sikes Anderson (1939 - 2011). She was instrumental in having this section of Coral Way, including the plazas, the trees and the street lights, declared a State and Local Historic Roadway in 1976. Thanks to her strength, determination and perseverance, this beautiful roadway and its plazas will remain as they now are for the enjoyment of all who pass this way.
