DOWNTOWN STREETSCAPE MASTER PLAN: Dan Keys reported that the structural soil specifications are being written. At this point in time, there is nothing new to report.

TREE EDUCATION/WEBSITE CONTENT: Dan Keys reported that he had checked with the Public Affairs Division regarding articles that had been published on previous projects within the City. He is working with them toward getting these on the City website.

GREENING OF THE GABLES: Dan Keys stated that he has not heard anything new from the Coral Gables Community Foundation or the Greening of the Gables committee. He will check to see where they stand at this point. Joanna Lombard asked Dan Keys to bring the City map he had made indicating projects that are in the works, to the May 1st meeting. She noted the benefits of having a map of possible projects available. Maricris Longo inquired as to how the BID, Greening of the Gables and the City of Coral Gables could get together to work on project. Discussion was held on various ideas to promote joint efforts including possibly having a board meeting at a possible location to focus on. Dan Keys will be sure to bring the map to the next meeting and all future meetings as it is updated on a continuing basis. A discussion was held regarding streetscape improvements on ‘restaurant row’, the 100 block of Giralda Avenue. It was decided that the board would consider meeting there when the time was more appropriate. Joanna Lombard noted that the board will continue to actively discuss the need for a design on the 100 block of Giralda Avenue.

Discussion turned to the funding aspect of streetscape projects and Linda Lawrence noted that Betsy Adams in the Coral Gables Garden Club has successfully found sponsors for many of the clubs projects. It was decided that when the time is appropriate, she may be contacted for advice.
