A Resolution accepting the bid of T&G Constructors, as the lowest and most responsive bid, in the base bid amount of $309,134.00, plus two alternates, for a total amount of $314,234.00 for the improvements to the Venetian Pool Building, Coral Gables, Florida.

That the City Commission approves the Resolution.
Brief History
This project includes the renovation of the men's and women's bathrooms to comply with all ADA accessibility requirements in accordance with the settlement agreement between the City of Coral Gables and the Department of Justice. This portion of the project is to be funded by the Capital Improvements Fund.
Another portion of the project, which includes the replacement of the lockers, repairs to two ornamental fountains, and painting of the fence and iron work is to be funded by the GOB (Government Obligation Bond).
The following bids were received and opened on October, 14, 2008:
T&G Constructors for $309,134.00 plus Alternates for a total amount of $314,234.00.
Gavarrete Inc. for $423,600.00 plus Alternates.
TRJ Construction - No bid.
Phoenix Comet Group - No bid.
The Public Works Department recommends awarding contract to the lowest and most responsive bidder, T&G Constructors, a pre-qualified construction company whose references have been pre-approved, in the amount of $309,134.00 plus two alternates for a total amount of $314,234.00.
The Finance Director is directed to charge this project to the Capital Improvement Fund and the Government Obligation Bond.
