Presentation of 20 years service pin to Firefighter Philip Lopez, Fire Department.
Body
Philip joined the City as a Fire Recruit in February 1990 and completed his training to Firefighter in March 1990. He earned his Emergency Medical Technician status in February 1990 and his Fire Inspector Certification in December 1991 and State Paramedic Certification in November 1996. He is currently assigned as a Driver/Engineer and completed his Advanced Training and Air Technician in October 2007.
Firefighter Lopez was recognized as Firefighter of the Month in June 2009, for going the extra mile to complete mask and air pack testing and by continuously helping his fellow drivers with mechanical problems. Firefighter Lopez maintains knowledge and technical skills that are very valuable in emergency as well as non-emergency situations and he is a great benefit to the department.
Firefighter Lopez continually exceeds all supervisor expectations, produces a high quality of work, is a great team worker and possesses superior initiative and rarely needs supervision. In addition, he exhibits very good communication skills, is courteous to the public and constantly does more than what is expected.
