The nomination was given by Frank Rodriguez, Public Service Department/Waste Division:
"I am recommending Mr. Jimmy Powell for Employee of the Month. An email was recently sent by one of our residents, Sofia Chediak of 520 Majorca Avenue, Sofia had high praise for Mr. Powell. She stated that "Mr. Powell is a very responsible, good worker, in addition to be very pleasant and cheerful young man." She also advised us that many of her neighbors and friends in the area felt the same way about Mr. Powell. Sofia stated that "Your Public Service Division is very fortunate to have him in your employ."
I have been Jimmy Powell's supervisor for over six years, I would like to agree with the comments made by our resident and elaborate on Mr. Powell's performance with the City of Coral Gables as a Sanitation Worker within the Public Service Waste Division. He has been a model employee since his initial employment with the city in March of 2002. His commitment to provide quality garbage collection service to our residents is highly commendable; he takes great pride in ensuring to execute his assigned collections in a timely and proper manner. He has been the type of employee who has been an excellent example and mentor to fellow employees; he leads by his actions.
Mr. Powell has always been the first to offer any assistance to accommodate the success of this department in any endeavor necessary. His attendance has always been exceptional, which reflects his commitment to serve this community and be a responsible public servant."
