It is recommended that the City Commission accept the recommendation of the City Manager pursuant to the Request for Proposal (RFP) No. 2008-03-13 to select Downtown Towing as the City’s towing service provider.
...Brief History
On March 14, 2008, the Procurement Division of Finance formally advertised, issued and distributed the Towing Services Request for Proposal (RFP) No. 2008-03-13 to twenty-six (26) potential bidders. On March 20, 2008, a mandatory pre-bid meeting was held with potential bidders.
On April 10, 2008, eight (8) responses were received of which two (2) were no bids; Downtown Towing, Freeway Transportation, Sunshine Towing, The Finest Towing, Haul-O-Way Towing, Southwest Transport, Inc. d/b/a Westbrook Motors. Apache Wrecker and Midtown Towing were no bids.
On April 17, 2008, the three member Selection Committee comprised of the Fire Chief, Police Chief and City Manager's office, completed their evaluation based on Equipment, Experience, Presentation, Pricing, and References/Background. The following summarizes their recommendation:
