Title:

Resolution authorizing the extension of an existing contract with Micro Security Solutions for a period through September 30, 2010 for security equipment and installation and maintenance of CCTV systems, access control systems, fire alarm systems and all associated software, hardware and accessories.

City Manager's Recommendation:

Brief History

Pursuant to Resolution No. 2008-73, Micro Security Solutions’ contract for providing security equipment installation and maintenance will expired June 1, 2010 and this Resolution seeks to extend Micro Security Solutions’ contract for an additional four (4) months in order to complete the design and installation of various security systems at the Police Department and Coral Gables Youth Center in addition to providing citywide security equipment installation and maintenance.

 

By September 30, 2010 it is expected that the procurement process to bring a new security systems vendor on board with the City will be completed.  Funding for services by Micro Security Solutions is appropriated in the Fiscal Year 2009-2010 Budget and will be apportioned through each individually funded project.

 

Section 2-650 of the Procurement Code authorizes the City Manager to delegate authority to the Chief Procurement Officer to administer the make recommendations on City contracts and under Section 2-834(d) of the Procurement Code, the Chief Procurement Officer recommends that the existing contract for security equipment installation and maintenance of CTV systems, access control systems, fire alarm systems and all associated software, hardware and accessories be extended for a period through September 30, 2010.
