A Resolution accepting the recommendation of the Chief Procurement Officer to award the Historical Plazas and Entrances Restoration and Renovation Project to Red Door Construction LLC, the most responsive-responsible proposer, pursuant to Section 2-828 of the Procurement Code entitled “Contract Award” and Request for Proposals (RFP) 2016.02VF, and authorizing the City Manager to negotiate a final contract amount acceptable to the City for this project (not to exceed $1,625,874.43); should negotiations fail with the most responsive-responsible proposer, negotiations shall commence with the next most responsive-responsible proposer until an agreement, and final contract amount acceptable to the City has been reached.
Body
The project consists of the restoration and renovation of historical plazas and entrances located at Granada Plaza, Granada Entrance, Balboa Plaza, Segovia Plaza, Commercial Entrance, Ponce de Leon Plaza and Columbus Plaza.
On February 25, 2016, the Procurement Division of Finance formally advertised, issued, and distributed the Historical Plazas and Entrances Restoration and Renovation RFP 2016.02VF. On March 3, 2016, a non-mandatory pre-proposal conference was held with fifteen (15) prospective proposers in attendance of the twenty-seven (27) prospective proposers who obtained the RFP package from the Procurement Division.
On March 31, 2016, five (5) proposals were received in response to the Historical Plazas and Entrances Restoration and Renovation Project, RFP 2016.02VF from: ABC Construction, Inc., Gecko Group, Inc., Keystone Restoration, Inc., LEGO Construction Co., and Red Door Construction LLC.
On May 25, 2016, the Evaluation Committee convened to evaluate the four (4) responsive proposals and determined that Red Door Construction LLC, is the top-ranked responsive and responsible proposer followed respectively by Keystone Restoration, Inc., LEGO Construction Co., and ABC Construction, Inc.
