Resolution authorizing the execution of an Agreement between the City and University of Miami authorizing a sewer connection outside the City Sanitary Sewer districts to serve the proposed Miguel B. Fernandez Entrepreneurship Building at the University of Miami located at 1305 Stanford Drive, Coral Gables, Florida, subject to the requirements of the Public Works Department as provided under Chapters 62 and 78 of the City Code, Ordinance No. 2007-29 and Resolution No. 27941 and provided that the executed agreement be made part of this Resolution.

Brief History
The University of Miami is requesting authorization for an outside sewer connection outside the City’s sanitary sewer districts to serve the proposed Miguel B. Fernandez Entrepreneurship Building (School of Business) at the University of Miami at 1305 Stanford Drive.
The request consists on the installation of a new private pump station on the southeast corner of the building. From this station the flow will go through a 4” ductile iron pipe (DIP) force main and will discharge into existing manholes to pump station # 3 which will receive additional flow from the new p
The Owner agrees to comply with the terms outlined in Ordinance No. 2007-29 (City Code Section 78-106) and Resolution No 27941.
Concurrently, upon signing the agreement, the Owner agrees to pay a connection fee based on the estimated daily peak flow. The fee has been estimated to be $229,257.00.
The Owner shall provide a Maintenance Bond or other Surety in the amount of five percent (5%) of the construction costs to assure timely repair of the Owner’s facilities should a failure occur, said Surety to
run in perpetuity or until connection is no longer required.
