SUMMARY OF MEETING:

 

CALL TO ORDER

The Chair for the Historic Preservation Board, Mr. Menendez called the meeting to order at 3:05 pm.

 

INTRODUCTIONS:

Introductions of board members from both boards.

 

ROLE OF THE LANDMARKS ADVISORY BOARD:

1.                     Goal of the Landmarks Advisory Board.

2.                     Working with the Historic Preservation Board.

3.                     Chapter 2, Article 3, Boards and Committees, Division 7, Landmarks Advisory Board - the role and purpose of the Landmarks Advisory Board. 

 

EFFECTIVE COOPERATION BETWEEN THE BOARDS:

1.                     Areas of Improvements.

2.                     Coordination to prevent duplication of efforts.

3.                     Agendas sent to both boards.

4.                     Invitation to members to attend both board meetings.

5.                     Areas of concern.

6.                     Landmarks list to be verified.

7.                     Public Works representative to be present at Landmarks Advisory Board Meetings.

8.                     Areas of overlap.

 

PUBLIC HEARING:

1.                     Deferred budget for restoration of important historic landmarks.

2.                     City of Coral Gables Centennial in 2025.

3.                     Condition of Alhambra Water Tower and City Hall.

4.                     George Merrick painting.

5.                     Recommendation to the City Commission for restoration of historic landmarks for the Centennial.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

1.                     Processes for Effective Board Cooperation.

2.                     City Budget.

3.                     Transfer of Development Rights (TDRs).

4.                     George Merrick painting restoration.

5.                     Protocol for Board communication.
