Congratulations to Carolina Vester, Parks & Recreation Department, recipient of the City of Coral Gables Employee of the Month Award, for the month of April 2009.

The nomination was given by Joellen Zelachowski, Parks and Recreation Department, who had this to say about Carolina:
“I am nominating Carolina Vester, Recreation Aide from the Parks and Recreation Department. Carolina has been working for the City for more than 5 years in various positions but starting out as a counselor in training. From that position she excelled into others such as lifeguard, lifeguard instructor and now Recreation Aide for the Venetian Pool. Carolina puts in 110% at all times without asking any questions or without any complaints. She is constantly doing things beyond her normal daily duties. Not only does she run the front admissions and concessions but she also plays a huge role in the Jr. Lifeguard Program and lifeguard training and certification. If it were not for Carolina our recreation programs would not be at the high standard that they are currently at and the lifeguard training program would not receive yearly recognition from Ellis and Associates. Carolina comes in no matter when she is needed and no matter what time of the day it is, even when the alarms are going off at 2am. She is truly a great asset for the Venetian Pool and the Parks and Recreation department as a whole.”
