Body

The purchase of the control panels for the Stormwater Pump Stations City 4 and North Gables, located at 3940 Granada Boulevard and 1406 Granada Boulevard, is part of an upgrade project for both stations. This upgrade aims to enhance the functionality and equipment of the stations, ensuring they operate more efficiently and effectively. The new control panels will be integral to these improvements, providing advanced features and better performance to support the overall stormwater management system.

Custom Controls Technology, Inc. holds the exclusive patent for manufacturing flood-resistant control panels, making them the only company authorized to produce and supply these specialized panels. No other company is permitted to manufacture or provide these flood-resistant control panels, ensuring that only Custom Controls Technology, Inc. can sell them. This unique patent ensures that the city receives high-quality, resilient solutions designed specifically to withstand flood conditions and maintain operational integrity.  The cost for this work is estimated at $132,126 and Public Works is seeking approval for this amount or an amount not to exceed the available budget.

Under Section 2-689 of the Procurement Code, entitled “Sole Source Procurement,” an award may be made without competitive bids when there is only one source available to fulfill the needs of the City
