City Manager's Recommendation
That this Resolution redefining the average impervious area of all residential developed property per dwelling unit located within the City as 2,346 square feet and increasing rate for Stormwater Service for residential and non-residential service be approved by the City Commission.
Brief History
The City is authorized by the Florida Constitution and the provisions of F.S. ch. 166 and F.S. § 403.0893 to establish just and equitable rates, fees, and charges for the services and facilities provided by the Stormwater Management System.

It has been fifteen (15) years since CDM last calculated the City’s average impervious area of residential developed property per dwelling unit within the City to be 2,428 square feet. Since then, there has been a significant increase in the construction of new multifamily dwellings which has necessitated a recalculation of the City’s average impervious area of residential developed property. Citywide, there are currently 19,695 residential units in the City occupying 46,205,846 square feet of impervious area with an average impervious area of 2,346 square feet per residential unit (an 82 sq. ft. reduction).
