Resolution of the City of Coral Gables authorizing the extension of a contract with Standard Parking Corporation for parking cashier services, pursuant to Section 2-834(d) of the Procurement Code and further requesting an additional extension period, not to exceed one hundred twenty (120) days.

...Body
On December 2, 2003, the City Commission entered into a contract with Standard Parking Corporation for the provision of parking cashier services for an initial two (2) year term with an option to renew for three (3) additional one (1) year periods.

Since December 31, 2008, this contract has been extended on a month to month basis while the Procurement Division of Finance formally solicited proposals for parking cashier services under RFP 2008.12.01 with the proposal opening occurring on January 15, 2009.

On February 3, 2009, proposals submitted were evaluated and ranked by a Selection Committee and the Parking Director concurred with the recommendation.

On February 24, 2009, City Commission first deferred this item until their March 10th meeting; it was subsequently deferred until the April 28, 2009 meeting.  Under Section 2-834 (d) of the Procurement Code, the parking cashier services contract should be extended for a period not to exceed one hundred twenty (120) days to provide sufficient time for this contract to be awarded, or if necessary, to rebid this contract.
