The minutes from the August meeting were circulated for approval. Motion: David Stiefel motioned to approve the August meeting minutes. Katherine deBlij seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.

Higgins Fallon explained that along with the printed Annual Report her office has been working on an Annual Video which highlights the City accomplishments in the past 12 months. The following video has been produced in-house and was shown at this morning's Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce breakfast where the Mayor presented his State of the City remarks.

Apolinar Ayanes reported that IT was still designing the Disability Affairs Board page and that representatives have met with the City Manager to establish policies for future demands to develop separate Web pages for other boards and committees. He will keep members informed of future updates on the matter.

Higgins Fallon reported that at the first Public Hearing the City Commission approved a 5.25 millage tax rate. The next second and final approval is scheduled for September 25. Higgins Fallon further discussed budget cuts that were mentioned at the last Public Hearing.

The following motion was made by Communications Committee David Stiefel:
A resolution communicating to the Coral Gables City Commission that the Communications Division should be preserved in its current form to serve the best interest of the informed citizenry of Coral Gables and that any effort to curtail the award- winning Communications Division will have a negative impact on the progressive nature of this City. (The motion was passed by a 2-1 vote.)

The employee newsletter The Xchange has been posted on-line and will replace the printed version.
Higgins Fallon showed a layout of a proposed studio for Coral Gables Television.
