Title
Resolution authorizing the execution of a Combined Voluntary Cooperation and Operational Assistance Mutual Aid Agreement for law enforcement services between the City of Coral Gables and the Town of Surfside.
Body
Pursuant to Florida Statute Chapter 23, Part 1, Florida Mutual Aid Act, the City of Coral Gables has the authority to enter into a Mutual Aid Agreement for law enforcement services with the law enforcement agencies of any other jurisdictions in the State of Florida. A mutual aid agreement for law enforcement services provides for mutual assistance during natural or man-made disasters, emergencies, and other major law enforcement problems, including those that cross jurisdictional lines. Through mutual aid agreements the Coral Gables Police Department can further enhance their capability to provide adequate levels of police services to address any foreseeable routine or emergency situation.

This Mutual Aid Agreement will become effective upon full execution by both jurisdictions and will continue in force for a period of five years from the full execution date, unless terminated prior thereto by any or all parties.
