Congratulations to the Coral Gables Fire Extrication Team.

The Coral Gables Extrication Team is rich in tradition, with more than 35 years of dedicated service. Over the decades, the team has competed both locally and internationally- including appearances in South Africa and Spain-and has built a reputation for excellence in vehicle extrication training and performance.
The team serves as a valuable avenue for firefighter development and advanced training, and it has helped produce many of the officers who serve within our department today. During competitions, they are presented with simulated vehicle accidents involving entrapped patients. The team must safely extricate and medically treat the patients within strict time limits. Scoring is based on command presence, efficiency of the action plan, tool handling, and patient care.
This year, the team competed in the 2025 NARVA Invitational against five other municipalities. With four new members on the roster, they achieved exceptional results:
1st Place - Best Technicians
2nd Place - Entrapment Pit (20-minute scenario, 1 patient entrapped)
3rd Place - Rapid Pit (10-minute scenario, 1 patient trapped)
3rd Place - Overall
