Resolution accepting the recommendation of the Chief Procurement Officer to award a Citywide Security Systems Services contract to Bright Line, Inc. d/b/a Benham Protective Services pursuant to RFP 2010.05.07 and Section 2-828 of the Procurement Code in the amount of $43,540.00 (forty-three thousand five hundred forty dollars) for annual maintenance with new construction based on a fee schedule provided as part of their proposal and software renewal licenses based on actual cost for an initial three (3) year period with two (2) additional one (1) year renewal options.
...Brief History
The purpose of this contract is to provide all labor, materials, equipment, hardware, software, firmware, permits, as-installed documentation and supervision required to fully support and provide maintenance and repair services for an integrated security system (including but not limited to access control, alarm monitoring systems, associated audio systems and CCTV) installed within facilities owned by the City of Coral Gables. Proposers were asked to provide pricing on a “Planned Preventive Maintenance-Flat Rate” and “Non Planned Maintenance”, to better identify and potentially reduce cost for routine services.
On May 28, 2010, the Procurement Division of the Finance Department advertised this proposal, which resulted in twenty four (24) RFP packages distributed. On June 24, 2010, three (3) vendors submitted proposals, which included Brightline Inc, d/b/a Benham Protective Services, Micro Security Systems and ADT Security Services.
On August 4, 2010, the Evaluation Committee met to evaluate proposals on the following criteria: qualifications, resources, ability to perform and verifiable experience: years in business and contractors present and past history in dealing with the City, references, ability to respond to requests (emergency and nonemergency) and price.
