Brief History

Sanitary Sewer Pump Station City No. 2 is the City’s largest sewer pumping station located at the intersection of Alhambra Plaza and Galiano Street.  Grant funding in the amount of $250,000 was received in 2009 from the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) through Agreement LP8909 to assist in funding the rehabilitation at this station.  The station rehabilitation project is not identified in the DEP’s Consent Order No. OGC 08-2788 and therefore does not have a mandated completion date.  It is in the City’s best interest at this time to set the project completion date for FY 2012 in order to meet other obligations related to the Consent Order.  Amendment No.1 extends the Agreement from October 31, 2010 to June 30, 2012.  Although the term of Agreement No. LP8909 expired on October 31, 2010, the DEP has incorporated language in the Amendment to reinstate the Agreement and extend it in order to allow the City to complete the project and receive reimbursement.
