Title

Resolution authorizing encumbrances in the amount of $10,208.63, or 15%, of the State Forfeited Asset Fund (F.A.F.) monies to provide for the support and operation of crime prevention, drug abuse prevention, safe neighborhood, or school resource officer programs, as required under the Florida Contraband Forfeiture Act.

Body

The F.A.F. consists of the proceeds from the seizure and forfeiture of certain assets identified during criminal investigation to have been possessed or utilized in violation of the Florida Contraband Forfeiture Act. Under FSS 932.7055, the Florida Contraband Forfeiture Act, a local law enforcement agency that acquires at least $15,000 in such proceeds in a fiscal year must expend or donate no less than 15% of forfeited asset proceeds for crime prevention, drug prevention, youth resource officer or safe neighborhood programs.

 

The Forfeited Asset Fund (F.A.F.) Committee met on August 16, 2010, and approved the recommendation to encumber a total of $10,208.63 or 15%, of State Forfeiture Funds as required by the Florida Contraband Act.
