PERSONAL APPEARANCES:
a. CORAL GABLE CENTENNIAL - DISCUSSION
Following up from the previous meeting, Martha Pantin, director of communications and public affairs, appeared before the Panel to discuss public art initiatives for celebration of the City’s 100-year anniversary. She provided goals for the program, including encouraging other organizations and departments to host and organize events that celebrate the past and future while building a sense of community and pride. A list of proposed projects was discussed and presented via PowerPoint.

NEW BUSINESS:
a. PRE-QUALIFIED ARTIST REQUEST - FRANCISCO DEL RIO
The Panel received and reviewed pre-qualification materials for the artist Francisco del Rio prior to the meeting. It was noted that a developer is interested in working with this artist. Ms. Hernandez noted that the example works show a primary interest in architecture and design. After a brief discussion, the following motions were made:
Mr. Guerrier made a motion approving Francisco del Rio as a pre-qualified artist. Mr. de León seconded the motion, which did not pass with four in favor and four opposed.
Discussion resumed briefly and the following motion was made:
Ms. Hernandez made a motion to not approve of Francisco del Rio as a pre-qualified artist. Mr. Mato seconded the motion, which passed with six in favor and two opposed.
OLD BUSINESS:
a. MOBILITY HUB - ARTIST RECOMMENDATIONS
The Panel discussed deferring this item to allow additional time for artist recommendations. The following motion was made:
Ms. Incer made a motion to defer this item. Ms. Miyar seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
ART IN PUBLIC PLACES UPDATES:
The Panel was updated on the status of the request for a proposal for significant artwork involving the artist, wFrank Stella. They were informed of the completed installation at The Plaza by artist Michele Oka Doner and were updated on the status of the s...
