I would like to nominate Sandra Rodriguez-Sandy-for Part-??me Employee of the Quarter. She elevates the city’s image by putting together and continuously improving the weekly ENEWS and has been doing so for almost two years. It’s a tireless effort of reaching out to city departments and outside organizations. She was instrumental in helping grow the subscribers and improve its design.
This is only one of the many tasks she’s been assigned. The department has relied on her ability to be multi-talented and purposeful for her assistance in helping organize administrative efforts, leading the Mayor’s Council and Communications Committee, reviewing Centennial planning, and having sophisticated, smart, and productive feedback on all campaigns and projects. She’s the go-to when in need of a second opinion.
It is expected a communication specialist knows how to write and use marketing tools effectively to spread a needed message. Sandra demonstrates how ones goes above and beyond by participating and engaging with the city’s affairs and her eagerness to learn. All work flows in the office are made more efficient thanks to her commitment and know how of the processes and who to contact, which can only come from a pride of one’s own work.
A final note as to why Sandra is more than deserving of this recognition is her attitude toward work, a quality that perhaps is more difficult to quantify but should not be overlooked. Un Ironically named the office’s “Ray of Sunshine”, Sandra is exemplary in making the office a positive and professional atmosphere. This is showcased in her conversations to colleagues, residents, boards and committees, and businesses. While only part-??me, her output and accomplishments are that of a full-time position.
