Insurance Advisory Committee Meeting of April 20, 2009

1. The minutes of the March 16, 2009 meetings were approved as final minutes.
2. Ms. Adler informed the committee of the City Commission's approval of the Property, Casualty, and ancillary coverages insurance renewals.
3. The Committee voted to recommend the HUMANA renewal with a 4% increase for a slightly revised HMO and two other options with greater cost to the employee effective July 1, 2009.
4. The Committee voted to recommend the Blue Cross/Blue Shield Dental Insurance renewal.
5. The Committee voted to recommend the Standard Life Insurance renewal.
6. The Committee was informed that the Johns Eastern renewal will be presented to the Commission.
7. Mr. Sparber gave a recap of the binding instructions given to our insurance brokers for the City's property and casualty insurance program.
8. Ms. Adler informed the committee of the plans to issue a request for qualification (RFQ) for a voluntary benefits services provider.
