Resolution authorizing the acceptance and execution of a Grant Application for the FY 2009 Economic Development Initiative Special Project (EDI-SP) Grant in the amount of $142,500 for the design and construction of a pedestrian bridge adjacent to the existing Granada vehicular bridge crossing of the Coral Gables Waterway; approving the project identified for implementation in the Grant Application; authorizing the Public Works Director to serve as the City's authorized representative for purposes described in the Grant Application; and approving an amendment to the 2009-2010 Annual Budget in the amount of $142,500 and an appropriation of funds for said amount.

Brief History
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has notified the City of Coral Gables of its approval of funding for an Economic Development Initiative-Special Project (EDI-SP) for the design and construction of a pedestrian bridge in the amount of $142,500 as identified in the Department of Housing and Urban Development Appropriations Act, 2009 (PL 111-8). The City submitted the EDI-SP Grant Application for the Granada Pedestrian Bridge in late December 2009.
The Resolution requests the acceptance of the Economic Development Initiative-Special Project (EDI-SP) grant funds, which provides funding for the design, permitting and construction of a pedestrian bridge where Granada Boulevard crosses the Coral Gables Waterway.
The total budget for the project is estimated to be $142,500 and the Resolution is requesting that an appropriation of funds in the amount of $142,500 in the FY 2009-2010 Budget be authorized.
