Body

The Coral Gables Downtown area suffers from serious flooding during storm events.  This project is to improve drainage infrastructure to alleviate or significantly improve potential flooding during and immediately following storm events.  This FDEM grant, Phase I, includes the design for the proposed project in preparation for construction. The grant consists of two phases: Phase I, $144,764 for design and Phase II, $845,860 for construction.

The Florida Division of Emergency Management agreed to provide financial assistance for Phase I in the amount of $144,764, representing 90% of the design phase’s cost of the project.  The City’s contribution will be 10% for a total of $15,273 of the project’s design phase.

In order to receive said financial assistance, the City must enter into an agreement with the Florida
