Title
Resolution authorizing the acceptance of a $81,880.50 grant on behalf of the University of Miami Police Department from the 2011-2012 Domestic Security K-20 Target Hardening/Access Control Grant; and authorizing an amendment to the Fiscal Year 2013-2014 Annual Budget to recognize the grant as revenue, and to appropriate such funds to reimburse the University of Miami Police Department for the grant expenditures.
Body
The 2011-2012 Domestic Security K-20 Target Hardening/Access Control Grant in the amount of $81,880.50 has been applied for and awarded to the University of Miami Police Department (UMPD) to cover the cost of target hardening the University of Miami campus through the purchase and installation of LPR security cameras, light poles, sufficient video storage and networking capabilities. The Coral Gables Police Department is serving in the role of intermediary in regards to this grant due to the fact that the Florida Department of Law Enforcement does not recognize UMPD as a law enforcement entity.

An amendment to the Fiscal Year 2013-2014 Annual Budget is required to recognize the $81,880.50 grant as revenue and to appropriate such funds to reimburse the University of Miami Police Department for the grant expenditures.
