Title

A Resolution of the City of Coral Gables authorizing the award of the Rotary Park Centennial Renovation to BMA Construction Inc. pursuant to Section 2-828 of the Procurement Code, in the amount of $100,562.00 (One Hundred Thousand Five Hundred Sixty Two).  (Project to be funded by the Miami-Dade General Obligation Bond Fund.)

 

City Manager Recommendation

It is recommended that the City Commission accept the recommendation of the City Manager pursuant to Invitation to Bid (IFB) 2008-12-13 for the Renovation of the Rotary Park Centennial Project.

 

Brief History

This construction project consists of a new stamped concrete walkway and aluminum fence, the installation of four benches, root barriers, synthetic safety surfacing system, one play structure and two animal play sculptures.

 

On December 12, 2008 the Procurement Division of Finance formally advertised, issued and distributed the Rotary Park Centennial Renovation Invitation to Bid (IFB) 2008-12-13. 

 

On January 29, 2009 nineteen (19) bid responses were received.   Of those that responded fifteen (15) responsive bids were submitted by: BMA, OAC Action, Maggolc, Inc., Development and Communication, Leadex Corp., Andale Group, T&G Constructors, Florida Construction, SFM, Pac Comm Inc., Bejar Construction, Carivon Construction, Solution Construction, Gecko Group, Gavarrete, Inc.  Of those that responded four (4) non-responsive bids were submitted by: Williams Paving, Wrangler Construction, Link Construction and Ram Tec Construction.

 

There were three (3) No Bid responses from Building and Development Solution Inc., Integral Construction Group and JRT Construction.
