Title
Resolution authorizing expenditures in the amount of $8,000.00 from previously encumbered Forfeited Asset Fund (FAF) monies to support activities and programs associated with the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) instruction conducted by the Coral Gables Police Department Youth Resource Unit.

Body
Pursuant to FSS 932.7055 (5)(c)(3) a local law enforcement agency must expend or donate no less than 15% of State Forfeited Assets for youth resource officer, crime prevention, drug abuse education, and prevention or safe neighborhood programs.

Forfeited Asset Funds were previously encumbered under Resolutions 2008-102 and 2009-227 to set aside funds to support Youth Resource Officer programs as required by statute.

The requested expenditure of $8,000.00 will support the activities and programs associated with the D.A.R.E. instruction conducted by the Coral Gables Police Department Youth Resource Unit and will further satisfy this statutory requirement.

The Forfeited Asset Fund Committee met on August 16, 2010, and approved this expenditure.
