A Resolution authorizing a change order in the amount of amount $36,290.00, pursuant to Section 2-829 of the Procurement Code entitled “Approval of Change Orders and Contract Modifications,” to provide additional funding for unforeseen historic conservation repairs to the Venetian Pool.
Body
On January 7, 2017, the City Manager approved the contract with Conservation Solutions, Inc. for historic conservation repairs to the Venetian Pool in the amount of $99,700.00.
Historic conservation repairs of the Venetian Pool are exempt from the Procurement Code under Section 2-678 (14), Exemptions. As a result, unforeseen repairs to the contract with Conservation Solutions, Inc., will exceed the authority (15% of the original contract amount) for change orders permitted under Section 2-829, Approval of Change Orders and Contract Modification, of the Procurement Code.
Approval of the change order in the amount of $36,290.00 is needed in order to complete the project.
Under Section 2-829, the City Commission, upon recommendation of the City Manager, shall approve change orders or contract modifications that exceed 15 percent of the original contract amount for supplies, services and all change orders and contract modifications for construction.
