Congratulations to Officer Kevin Kelley, recipient of the City of Coral Gables 2013 Officer of the Year Award.

During the year 2013, Officer Kevin Kelley was recognized on three occasions for his outstanding work. Officer Kelley was nominated for Officer of the Month for April 2013 for his efforts in arresting a habitual bicycle thief. Officer Kelley used his investigative knowledge and worked with the Criminal Investigation Division to close multiple cases. Secondly, Officer Kelley received the Officer of the Month Award in August 2013 for his proactive patrol efforts and subsequently foiling a narcotics ring. During that case, he utilized his investigative skills and identified drug offenders within his zone. Thirdly, Officer Kelley was recognized as the Officer of the Month for December 2013. While on patrol Officer Kelley became involved in a fraud investigation that resulted in the identification of an individual that had committed numerous crimes throughout South Florida. As a result of this apprehension, the offender was arrested for over 13 felony crimes and warrants.
